Marketing & Communications

In my role as a full time Marketing & Communications Manager at Keystone Community Services, I create social media content, design content for campaigns, write and schedule emails, and work with different departments to ensure messaging is consistent across the organization.

Social Media

One of my primary roles was managing Keystone's Facebook, Instagram, and Linkedin accounts. This included sourcing content, creating graphics, editing imagery, planning content, and writing.

Program Material

Keystone provides 3 types of services which are Basic Needs Services, Senior Services, and Youth Services. I collaborated with program Directors to create overview flyers and a brochure to communicate information to with program participants, donors, and outreach tabling events. This project was part of the overall goal to create more consistent branding across the different programs.

Keystone SNAP Updates Video

Things moved quickly during the month of November 2025. I worked with Keystones Basic Needs team to quickly record a video update for donors and audiences to let them know how they could help. There was no script I simply asked questions, shot some B-roll and recorded the answers. This video was edited using Adobe Premiere Pro.

Newsletters

One of my goals at Keystone was to shift the focus of the quarterly newsletter from being primarily food (Basic Needs Services) focused to highlighting different areas by including Seniors Services, Youth Service stories and Express Bike Shop news. I worked with various department directors to gather content, the advancement team for a mailing list, and print vendors to ensure the mailer went out on time.

Email Content

Some of the main email content I would write would be for the Quarterly Newsletter, Free Farmers Markets, Give to the Max, and Senior Newsletter. Repurposing/sourcing content, designing the look, and scheduling out emails is all part of the process.

Advertisements

Keystone ran ads through Park Bugle and Community Reporter where people in the community could learn about they could engage with the organization. My role in the creation of the ads was to suggest potential ideas, write up content, create graphics, request feedback from the team, and coordinate with newspaper contacts to ensure it goes out on time.

Watershed Sign

I worked with the Capitol Region Watershed District and Advancement Director to create a rain garden sign to place at Keystone's Community Food Center. The project required me to illustrate the process and to make sure the sign met the requirements laid out by the CRWD. The sign was installed at the Keystone Community Food Center and available to view as of December 2025.

School Supply Giveaway Event

In collaboration with the Volunteer and Development team, I created promotional material for the organizations annual School Supply Distribution Event. This involved creating a Facebook events page, printed material, social media content, a newspaper ad, and a mailed postcard. The event was a success and saw a total of 936 backpacks full of school supplies distributed to families.
